Peter Smith
Consultant LLBPeter understands the true meaning of great client relationships. He develops close associations with people and is driven by his clients’ success, many of whom are leaders in their industries.
Pete, as he is known, started practicing law in 1973, establishing Smith and Partners in 1988. Starting in general practice, he found one of his passions in the commercial law where he is able to showcase his skills in connecting and communicating with a wide range of people. His clear, confident and straight talking answers earn him credit within the West Auckland community.
Pete’s reputation is built from his understanding of client issues and his ability to offer good business solutions and being a great communicator. He makes the effort to deliver advice in plain English, ensuring his clients understand what they need to know and not get bogged down in the legal jargon.
Pete has a passion for horse racing and breeding. Interestingly, his love for horses introduced him to one of his major clients.
Pete is Director of the Judicial Control Authority for racing in New Zealand and the Auckland Trotting Club. He is also President of the North Island Standardbred Breeders Association, Chairperson of Cardigan Bay Holdings and an honorary solicitor for Kumeu A & H Society and Te Akaranga Play Centre Association. Peter was President of the Waitakere Rotary Club and is past President and life member of the Kumeu Trotting Club.
